Preparing the Sequencing VM
Copy 7z920-x64.msi to the VM
Begin Sequencing
Launch Sequencer and Click Next until you get to the below screen
Personally I always select a custom install. This application is just a single MSI so you can browse to the MSI if you please. Click Next
Enter a name which adheres to your naming standards. Enter C:\Dummy for your Primary Virtual Application Directory. Click Next
The above screen now prompt to install the application. Launch 7z920-x64.msi
Click Next
Check the ‘I accept the terms in the License Agreement’ checkbox and click Next
Click Next
Click Install
Click Finish
Launch the application by navigating to C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7zFM.exe
Click Tools and Click Options
Select what filet types you wish to associate with this application. This will ensure the context menu for 7-zip will appear when say, right clicking on a Zip file e.g. Extract Files, Compress File. When complete, click Apply and OK. And then exit the application.
Check the ‘I am finished installing’ checkbox and click Next >
Click Next >
Ignore the warning and Click Next >
Click Stop Now and Click Next >
Click ‘Continue to modify package without using the package editor’ and Click Next >
Click Close
Navigate to the Advanced tab and check all boxes. Save your package to your content share and you should be ready to deploy.
A shortcut should be created on the client machine and you should also be able to see 7-Zip in the context menu for the File types you selected during sequencing. e.g. .zip files
