I will have the pleasure of speaking at a few events this year. Here’s where you can catch me!
Managing Applications in a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure – BrightTalk
The first up will be via a BrightTalk webinar. I will be presenting on the topic of managing applications in a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. This presentation should have something for people of all skill and experience levels.
I plan to discuss some of the core concepts being used by application virtualization and go into a high level overview of some of the products on the market that use these concepts. The concepts include: Isolation, Streaming, Containerization, Portability and Layering.
Some of the products that I intend on speaking about will be App-V, Application Jukebox, Spoon, ThinApp, Cameyo, Unidesk, AppVolumes and more.
I also plan to feature a few Demos along the way, hotel internet permitting!
This will all take place on May 13th at 4:00pm EST. You can register to attend by using this link: https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/679/153769
Application Virtualization: Best in Show – BriForum
Who doesn’t love BriForum!? I had the pleasure of presenting at BriForum in Boston last year and will have the pleasure of presenting in Denver this year.
The topic for this one is Application Virtualization: Best in Show. I get to wax lyrical about the various different application virtualization technologies on the market today. I will tell you my likes and dislikes of each product and try to give a pretty high level overview of some of the features that I believe makes each stand out.
If you are toying with the idea of bringing an Appvirt technology into your company and would like some info on which ones to look at, this session may be of great help. If you are already using a certain product, you’re not happy with it and you’d like to look at alternatives, this session may be of great help. IF you have been working with something like ThinApp or App-V for years but you have not had the time to use all of the various different products this session may be of great help.
I have been working on the Application Virtualization Smackdown for the last three years. I will incorporate my experience into the session. I plan to cover as many products as possible in the time allotted to me. Expect to hear about:
App-V, ThinApp, Application Jukebox, Workspace Streaming, Spoon, Cameyo, FSLogix, Unidesk, AppVolumes and FlexApp. Though, this list may be subject to change 🙂
My session will take place on Monday, July 20th at 11:05am

Windows 10 Migration – Dealing with the Elephant in the room, Your Applications!
I’m super excited to get the opportunity to present at the MWS Summit in Oslo, Norway on the 9th of September. I have never actually been to Norway before but it’s been a place I have wanted to visit for a loooooong time! I have also heard that the Tech conferences over there are great. My very first Twitter follower was from Norway! I hope to deliver a pretty timely presentation.
In this session, I will address the difficulty in an OS migration around applications. I’ll discuss strategies to help with application migration and also discuss how this time can be used as an opportunity to make your End User Computing focus more dynamic with the power of application virtualization and other great products on the market today.

VirtualExpo – Application Management: The New Kids on the Block
I have the pleasure of speaking at the first ever VirtualExpo on September 30th. This is being arranged by the great Trond Eirik Haavarstein…Or Eric as us simple minded people refer to him as! Eric is one of those wonderful Norwegian Techies, seriously, what are they doing in Norway and the Netherlands that they are producing so many sharp Techies!? Eric is over in Brazil living the good life, I guess he wanted to chase the sun like myself!
I have presented on Erics site before and it was a great experience. There was great engagement from the attendees and I’d love for the same kind of engagement this time around. This time will be very different, it’s not just an hour of me talking shite. It will be an entire day of technical sessions and best of all, it’s FREE!
I will be presenting on the topic of Layering and Containerization, as well as some great products I have used during my time working in the Desktop and Server space.
To see what I present on, I guess you’ll have to register to find out: https://xenapptraining.leadpages.net/xbve2015/
